The Role

This is a flexible post of between 6 and 9 sessions per week, negotiable depending on your circumstances. We run a 15-minute appointment system and operate as a single-site, essentially paperless practice on EMIS Web.

What the role offers:

• Freedom from NHS bureaucracy – more time for medicine, less time on paperwork
• A genuinely personal service to patients, with a strong emphasis on family medicine and continuity of care

• 6–9 sessions per week, negotiable
• Six weeks’ annual leave, pro-rated to your weekly session count
• Competitive salary, with significantly lower income tax than the UK (around 20%)
• Purpose-built, modern consulting facilities
• On-site pharmacy, physiotherapy, X-ray, ultrasound, and visiting consultants
• Out-of-hours cover through JDOC (Jersey Doctors On Call), which is typically around five or six overnight shifts per year for those doctors who wish to partake
• A clear and supported pathway to partnership for those who want it

The Place

Jersey is 9 miles by 5, has a population of around 105,000, a crime rate that is the envy of most places in the UK, and the kind of quality of life that is genuinely hard to find anywhere else. It is also less than an hour from the UK by air.

About Us

We are a well-established, friendly practice with a strong team culture. We value clinical excellence and a genuine commitment to our patients, and we work hard to make the practice a place where people actually want to come to work. We have a practice manager, seven administrative staff, and a track record of supporting incoming doctors through a smooth transition to island life and island practice.
We are particularly interested in candidates with additional clinical skills or special interests, though above all we are looking for a good doctor who will be a good colleague.

Moving to Jersey

Doctors relocating from the UK will need a housing licence to rent or purchase property on the open market. We arrange sponsorship for this on behalf of incoming doctors — it is a well-trodden path and we will guide you through it.
